Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Invariant Labs ("we", "us") about your use of the Peblings Android app, its home-screen widget, and the website at peblings.app (together, "Peblings"). By installing or using Peblings you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Peblings.

1. Who can use Peblings

You must be at least 13 years old to use Peblings. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for any purchases made on their Google Play account. Peblings is distributed through Google Play and also requires that you comply with the Google Play Terms of Service.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Peblings on Android devices that you own or control, for your own entertainment, in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile or create derivative works of Peblings except where the law expressly allows it; sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute it; or use it in a way that interferes with its operation or with other users, or that breaks any law.

3. The free journey

Every pebling you create can be played in full, with every feature and mini-game, for the first seven days of its life (its "free journey"). No payment details are needed. A pebling's age pauses while it is frozen, and a pebling that passes away and is restarted begins a new life with a new free journey. We may change the length of the free journey for peblings created in the future; a change never shortens the free journey of a pebling you have already created.

4. Peblings Premium

4.1 What it is

Peblings Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, available as a monthly or a yearly plan, that lets every pebling on your device keep growing after its free journey. One subscription covers all of your peblings. Prices are shown in Google Play in your local currency before you buy and may vary by country.

4.2 Billing and renewal

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Google Play, and payment is taken from the payment method on your Google account. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends. Google Play will notify you in advance of any price change, and a price change never applies to you without your agreement where the law requires it.

4.3 Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for, and your peblings freeze after that. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.

4.4 Refunds

Because Google Play handles all payments, refund requests go through Google Play and are decided under Google Play's refund policy. Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase (for example within 14 days for consumers in the EU and UK), you can exercise it through Google Play. Beyond what the law and Google Play provide, subscription fees are non-refundable.

4.5 Restoring a subscription

Your subscription is tied to the Google account used to buy it. If you reinstall the App or move to a new device, sign in to Google Play with the same account and the App will pick the subscription up on its next check-in with Google Play.

5. Frozen peblings

When a pebling's free journey ends and there is no active Peblings Premium subscription on the device, the pebling is frozen: its stats, level, XP, wardrobe and scene are paused exactly as they were, it does not decay and it earns nothing. It thaws and continues the moment a subscription becomes active. A frozen pebling stays on your device for as long as the App is installed. Freezing is a pause, not a penalty, and no progress is removed.

6. Virtual items and progress

Peblings, levels, XP, coats, wearables, balls, scenes and anything else inside the game are a licensed part of the game, not property, and have no monetary value. They cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged for money or redeemed outside Peblings. Your peblings are stored only on your device: there is no account and no cloud backup, so if you uninstall the App, clear its data, lose the device or reset it, your peblings are gone and we cannot restore them. Please be careful with them.

7. Fair play

You agree not to tamper with the App's data, clock or purchase verification, use modified versions of the App, automate widget interactions, or otherwise cheat. We may refuse to honour progress or purchases obtained that way.

8. Intellectual property

Peblings – including its pets, art, animations, sounds, names, text, code and the Peblings name and logo – is owned by Invariant Labs or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Except for the licence in section 2, these Terms give you no rights in Peblings. You're welcome to share screenshots and recordings of your peblings for personal, non-commercial purposes.

If you send us feedback or ideas, you agree that we may use them without any obligation to you.

9. Third-party services

Peblings relies on Google Play (distribution, billing) and Google Firebase (analytics). Those services are governed by Google's own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. Google is not a party to these Terms and has no obligations under them.

10. Changes to Peblings

Peblings is a living game and we improve it over time. We may add, change or remove features, gameplay values, items and scenes, and we may release updates that you need to install to keep playing. We may also suspend or discontinue Peblings, in whole or in part; if we discontinue Peblings Premium we will stop charging for it, and any refund for an unused period will be handled through Google Play.

11. Termination

You may stop using Peblings at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 6 to 14 survive termination.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

Peblings is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not promise that the widget will behave identically on every launcher or device, that a pebling will never be lost, or that any particular feature will remain available.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Invariant Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits or lost peblings, arising out of or related to Peblings or these Terms, however caused. Our total liability for any claim relating to Peblings is limited to the amount you paid us for Peblings Premium in the twelve months before the claim, or US$20 if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; where that is the case, our liability is limited to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

If you are a consumer in the EU, UK or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection law, nothing in these Terms affects the rights that law gives you.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the competent courts of Tel Aviv, Israel – except that if you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim in its courts. Before going to court, please email us; most problems can be sorted out in a message or two.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. For material changes we will give notice in the App or its store listing before they take effect. Continuing to use Peblings after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms; if you don't, stop using Peblings and cancel any subscription.

16. General

These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about Peblings. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor of the Peblings business.
